![]() In fact i find it really funny that the main complaint for the orange bricks was the video footage/cropping, i remember watching it for the first time and i couldnt get over how bad/different it sounded, even after manually setting the score from japanese to the falconer score it still didnt sound right and thats when i realised that theyd actually gone and re-done a lot of the voice work.Īs someone who must have watched the original home releases to the point that i wore out the VHS tapes it was extremely off putting when you expect them to say a phrase a specific way and its burned into your brain only to find out that they changed the wording entirely not just the delivery :XĪnd thats just the post ginyu saga funimation vs later funimation run not to mention how the ocean studios dub fits into this for the first 2 seasons as well.įunnily enough its the reason i realised i was probably obsessed with this show as a kid because i remember when the "its over 9000" meme started going wild on the internet, and i remember watching the remastered series with my brother where its obviously missing/changed and he didnt even notice it was any different even after i made a comment about it, and i was like how is that possible? lol Its not just limited to vegeta either, ginyu/frieza and many other characters sound completely different to the original funimation run. The original version's vegeta had chris sabat imitating brian drummond's voice and you can very clearly see it if you look at comparison videos. The orange bricks are a remaster, the audio re uses the falconer score but large portions of the voice acting was changed. Its interesting to me that people dont realise the original Singles are actually very different than the orange bricks onward. Unless you're really into collecting, or collecting retro items, I wouldn't. There's no telling what the quality on those will be, not only because they're quite old at this point, but it's difficult to know which run/edition they are without looking at the individual DVDs. The other images are of the individual DVD releases. I do have that edition and I don't recommend it, unless you really just like Falconer's music. ![]() That doesn't fit the description you gave, but it's also known as being one of the worst releases out there. The link you gave mostly shows the Orange Brick edition. I think maybe this will help?ĮDIT: OP posted at the same time I did. I can't really give a pro/con list since I've not seen each release, but TotallyNotMark recently did a comparison of each version, with full pros/cons. "Cool images" is a bit vague, but your description sounds like you're maybe referring to the Level Sets? It's hard to give pros and cons without knowing exactly which set you're talking about.
